Lol Mel - I almost leaped with joy earlier because my old reliable Sony C905 (which I've had since Christmas 2008) wasn't charging properly - plugged it in and it's little battery symbol said it was charging but when I unplugged it it was still on red... I though yaaaaay new phone time (lol note not new battery time)... but then I turned it off and on again and it's working fine. Lol. (Still it is a good thing cause the one I want to replace it with isn't out yet).

Well I have just been to yoga - and it was lovely - so peaceful and soothing. :D I have made the decision that I am going to do my local 'Run' for life next summer (24th June, only a couple of weeks before the wedding). I will wear the one-a-day sun cream I've got to help banish all traces of tan lines. But I figure if doing it in the run up to the wedding helps keep me focused on being an angel (got to eat healthy to run, and I have to train for it), then I'd rather have tan lines and look fabby, than be eating crap uncontrollably up to the wedding and look !!!!!. :D I have filled out my entry form (cause it's not run by Tescos the entry forms were included in this years 'winners' packs). And I'm entering Lincoln's 10K in late March as well so that should keep me healthy over the winter. I'm also on the look out for a proper running club - cause I go to Yoga and Pilates every week without fail cause I feel like if I didn't go I'd be letting my friends/the instructor down. Perhaps I could do the same with a running club. Who knows. :)

You could always use the sun lotion then do a couple of sunbed sessions to blend any slight marks you might get. And you never know it might be crappy weather haha!

I was wondering about fake tan actually because I feel like I will need a bit of colour, but don't want to use a 'fake' tan in case it comes off on the dress? But then I'm a bit nervous of sunbeds because I burn so easily. (I was out in the garden the other day for about 10 minutes at lunchtime - took one lot of washing in and hung another out - came in and I was all red!) What are you all doing about tanning?

I would love to go to an exercise class I think it would really help but I'm too scared to go on my own haha!

    xx

I'm not going to preach... but :p.... lol... My father died from skin cancer (in his late 30s, when I was 7) so it's the one thing I'm a little bit preachery about lol. I don't do sunbathing in any form - I apply factor 50 religiously (well I used to before I discovered the Reinmann P20 thanks to this board). I embrace the english rose look - white and pasty ha! I would look 'wrong' if I suddenly got a tan for the wedding day :)

With the exercise class thing - I would say GO! You don't need friends - cause once the exercise has started you'll be so engrossed you won't notice who's around you (well you should be anyway). I went to my Yoga class on my tod and now have regular chit chats with the ladies who put their mats near mine. (like asking after their daughter who has just given birth etc). The pilates class is different cause it's one of our TAs who runs it so I kinda go along to support her - lol not that she needs it! She's brilliant!

Ah I see, I don't blame you tbh, that must have been awful. That sort of thing is one of the reasons I don't really do tanning - my uncle had/has skin cancer (luckily he seems to be going through a good patch at the mo) which is why I don't like the thought of sunbeds.

Ah I dunno I guess it would be ok I just need to pluck up the courage, I hate walking into places on my own where I don't know anyone! Haha!

  • Yay Laura to the button purchase. I received 500 cream mixed buttons today. I've put a few together already. It's going to look fab and I feel like I'm doing something constructive towards my day.

Sorry your feeling grumpy Natalie. I only dream of being a size 10!! I think we all agree we feel better when eating healthier yet still we succumb. I saw a comment previously stated you had been nominated for slimmer of the year?? At least I think I did!! You must have been a successful 'loser' so don't beat yourself up. It's just one day x

Lol Mel forgetting Melanie's name :p

LauraR yaaaaay for ordering some buttons - and yaaaaay for Melanie for receiving some and getting started. :D

:) Yea I was a finalist for the slimmer of the year 2009. :) I had lost 3st12lbs (I'm about a stone above that target weight at the moment though). Unfortunately the 'one day' has been erm 'one month' ha!! Pretty much since I went wedding dress shopping. :rotfl: you would have thought that would spur me into staying thin not give me a licence to 'let myself go' ha!
