Oh your a chatty lot today!! lol. . . . . so how do i get to view your gorgeous sounding wedding invites you have all been beavering away on?? It is a public viewing?!! I'm looking for some ideas for mine. Settled on a gate fold style i could make at home and have the printers to print the inlay for me and then i'll somehow add buttons and ribbon.
MrsDrink i'll try and find a link to the meringue!! haha then you can imagine it chopped off tea length with gorgeous shoes too0 -
Oooo congratulations Melanie - you are no longer a Newbie! (You've discarded the newbie badge!)
These are my invites:
They are a gatefold style, and eighth of a sheet of A4.
Ooo have you thought about your shoes?
:S Argh a friend has just thrown a total spanner in the works - she has just had some reportage style photos of her taken and she looks amazing. I'm now swinging back to wanting a professional photographer - argh!! I think I might send off some emails tomorrow to those who sent me their prices.0 -
Wow MrsDrink (natalie?) those are fab . . . yet another talent. I'm looking at gatefold too!
I have been searching the internet for a dress picture but i cant find an identical one BUT i have found this - "Mori Lee style number 86092" mine is a champagne colour with same colour sequins. I am going to have it chopped it off to make it a tea length have and some of the net taken out from underneath so its not so A line!!
Now shoes is a whole new shopping trip. I might have to buy at least a few pairs. LOL . . . i love shoes!!!!0 -
Lol snap!! I have bought 4 pairs of shoes so far (but have returned 3 of them).
Will have a look at that dress after tea.0 -
Well who was I kidding - no way could I wait till after tea - tea can burn lol.
That is a gorgeous dress!! Love the sequin detailing - I assume yours is similar - sequined on the bodice with a netted skirt? Fabby!!0 -
I have 2 pairs of shoes already, one pair I got for a bargain on ebay, they will be for the evening as they have a small heel, and I have a pair for the day that I love. Ive stopped looking now otherwise I would end up with 10 pairs come July!!:rotfl:
Oh that dress it lovely, and so yours in champagne must be lovely.0 -
*whispers*
Well it looks like we probably will get a photographer. I think our mums (his especially) would like a proper photo of all of us. And I must admit I would like one of me looking stunning lol. (Just hope that isn't asking for a miracle :rotfl:). So I have sent two emails out - one who is £245 for two hours plus a CD of 50 photos, and one who is £200 for "a couple of hours" with a CD of "the images" (no number restriction stated). MrD has fitted the £200 guys carpets and says he's an alright guy and would be able to blend into the background. (He would have said no to him if he was a nob). There is only going to be 17 guests and MrD and I at the ceremony so we definitely need someone who will blend into the background but at the same time know what photos to take. I think I'd like some photos of our guests waiting for me, MrD at the 'altar' waiting for me. My entrance with my Grandad, MrD's face when he sees me for the first time (it had better be a look of 'cor'), the usual photos of the two of us at the 'altar', photos of the sharing of the rings, the first kiss, signing the register, and then a couple of group photos afterwards... not that I've given it much thought ha! I hope the £200 guy is still free on the 17th - have asked both of them whether we could meet up next week - I'd like to get this sorted before I go back to school0 -
HELP!!!!!
Well im meant to be going to look at some dresses on monday in hornsea but ive just got an email from a dress shop in york saying they have THE dress in!!! And in the size i need!!! I love the dress but it is big and not sure if its me! Do i waste my shopping day to try 1 dress or ignor it and stick with my origional plans and hope i fall in love with something else??? Argh!!!!0 -
Ok this is my opinion (from my experience)- yes you need to that dress on first because otherwise anything else you try on you wont be able fully take in as youll be thinking of 'the dress'. And surely you can try 'the one' on and if it isnt right the shop will have plenty of other dresses for you to try to get an idea of what you want and what is you so you wouldnt be going all that way for one dress would you?? (Although if 'the one' is way over budget maybe you should go and try other dresses on first but you would have block that dress out your mind!!)
My experience was I saw a dress in a window that I loved (it had a fully beaded bust panel) so I went in, and my mum picked one she liked and my sister picked one, so I tried the other choices on first but just wasnt really taking them in, I tried on the one I loved last and it looked awful, I looked too top heavy (because of the beading which I loved) and it was cut funny so my hips looked huge but I had rushed through trying on the other 2 and was trying to find faults with them even though one was actually really nice. I didnt get any of the dresses I tried on that day!!0 -
I agree with Emma.
Go and try on 'the dress'. For all the reasons Emma's said. This is what I did - I went and tried on the Alice Donna Lee Designs dress cause that was the one I'd got my eye on. I quickly discounted it which meant I could try other dresses on with an open mind.
Also like Emma says there will be other dresses in that shop to try on. Also is there any other bridal shops in the area that you could visit while you're there? This is what I did - I made an appointment to try Alice on - while I was there I also tried on others (including the one I bought), and made an appointment in another bridal shop for afterwards.0
