Hi,
I purchased a breadmaker recently from a company that sells 'graded' stock on Ebay. Pardon my ignorance but I assumed to mean factory refurbs but now I'm not sure, so I don't know where I stand.
To explain, the breadmaker I bought was stainless steel. When it arrived, the box was a bit ropey but the inside, well. the hinge for the top lid was broken off, the plastic control panel had broken away and you could see the wirig, the metal rim around the bin was bent completely bent all the way round and the metal casing was all bashed in. The rubber feet had paint all over them and even the inner metal housing for the loaf was bent!
I e-mailed the company with my list of complaints and they asked me to call them. I did and they offered to send a replacement. Different model but still stainless steel.
It's arrived this morning. Not boxed, just in a bag. It's a cheap, crap morphy richards plastic model and it needs a damn good clean before it's used. Not that I know how as it's got no instructions.
I've e-mailed them (my language would be far too 'fruity' for a phone call at the moment) to say refund now.
Am I within my rights to do this as when I spoke to them on the phone they kept referring to it as graded stock so I couldn't expect perfection!
Does graded also cover things that look like they've been bought at a car boot and just plugged in to check it works?

Graded really means that its condition has been classified. There's a big difference between Grade A and Grade F though.
Do you have the auction number to hand? Can I help?0 -
