Out of home allowance??

I've had to temporarily move out of my house while waiting for it to be sorted after some damage that was someone else's fault.

I've been told that I'm entitled to an allowance for this, even though I'm staying with family and friends, but I have no idea how to access it! Can anyone help?

Thanks.

It sounds like you have a large claim.

Your best bet would be to speak to the Loss Adjuster who is dealing with your case.

Bear in mind you cannot really charge them for food as you would have had to buy food anyway.

Have a word with the LA and see if they are prepared to offer anything, if they refuse let us know

Loss Adjuster's coming out at the end of next week, 11 days after the incident. We were told a company to speak to about the allowance from our insurance company, but can't find out much about it. Home Assistance UK or something like that?

I just assumed that seen as we are out of our home our insurance company would deal with it, although we have separate companies for buildings and contents insurance.
