Beach Huts - would you rent one?

Beach Huts seem to be really popular around the country, but would you rent one for the day/week?

How much are they and where are your favourites.

If you'd find use for one then yes, if not, it's a waste of money.

We hire one most years for a couple of weeks over the Bournemouth Air Festival/school holidays, gives us somewhere to store all the kids beach stuff every day without having to carry it down, somewhere to eat, make drinks, keep warm, get changed, dry swimsuits, put babies to sleep. If the weather is bad though, it gets no use so some you win some you lose. Balance of probabilities it works OK for us. If you are only a couple with little to carry each day, maybe not so.

    Thanks Calypso

That sounds fairly cheap to be honest - ive seen them at £150/week.

    Anyone else rent one?

I cant believe only 2 people on the forum rent a beach hut - what happened to the revival beach huts are supposed to be going thru.

People assume you can sleep in them, No doubt many do.

I presume its against the rules though.

The ones in Bridlington are always booked solid - they are operated by the Council on daily or weekly rentals. Weekly is over £100 a week.

My sister has rented one in Torbay for the past couple of years. It's privately owned and she heard about it by chance. She is renting this year from April to October for the grand total of £90!!!!!!!! She used it last year several times a week, we also went down a few times. Has a camping stove, kettle etc in it and cooks basic meals. Brilliant!
