Insurance

Can anyone recommend somewhere for insurance for a very small internet based business? The products that I am selling have all been bought in from UK based companies.

Thank you in advance.

What are you trying to insure for?

I have been told that I should get some kind of insurance in case someone tries to sue over anything that I have sold them. Trouble is that my turnover is far less than the cost of the quotes that I have been given.

I think we need to think of some examples where this might happen. What kind of stuff do you sell and roughly at what prices?

Most problems never get to the "sue" stage, as you will probably be able to put them right e.g. goods not right? Return for replacement/refund. Goods not delivered? Contact courier/Royal Mail.

Presumably your customers are covered by the Distance Selling Regs and/or SOGA ..... so what could they sue for?

  • Hi there

I use Swinton Business for my High Street Shop but any Business Insurance Company should be able to help you. Mine costs £33.00 per month and covers things such as Shopfront, Property Owners Liability, Stock & Stock In Transit, Money in transit and in shop, Fixtures & Fittings, Business Interruption, Employers & Public Liability, Fire etc; Hope this if some use to you and good luck in your business!

Sorry, I am selling baby boxes and clothing. I also have some wooden toys and some costume jewellery.
