I have been looking for the above on eBay and have become confused with all the different models available. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Look out for one with the Sirf III chip-set and, for convenience, the same size power input as your mobi. charger.0 -
yup - I have the one that MORPH3US linked to, never had any trouble with it & the battery lasts ages.
also if the battery does run out it's the same battery as my nokia moble takes so I can do a crafty swap. It sonnects to my Dell Axim with tom tom sat nav no probs.
I paid about £40 for it a while back but they seem to be a bit cheaper now.

I have had the older one (bt77?)which was fine but the newer sirf 111 type work much much better for the same sort of money, they work inside buildings which is strange. must just be the advances in technology, mine works great with tom tom mobile, was about 40 quid on ebay0

This is one area of technology I've not kept upto date on
What would this be useful for? I know GPS tells you where on the planet you are but what's the benefit of being able to Bluetooth info from the device to my mobile phone?
Genuine question by the way, apologies for my feeble knowledge on the subject! You'll always miss 100% of the shots you don't take - Wayne Gretzky
Any advice that you receive from me is worth exactly what you paid for it. Not a penny more or a penny less.0 -

Smartphones can use route-planning programs like TomTom to give navigation guidance in the car, for which it needs the current location coming off the GPS unit. The phone can call-home using GPRS to pick up the latest traffic congestion and route you around jams.0
