mike88 - Thank you for the link, I'm definitely going to be checking that out on Thursday (my day off) I love the sound of the S&S ISA's. Where's the best companies to open them?
This is as good a place as any here:

Always buy your stocks and shares ISAs through a discount broker as they rebate commission and HL are used by many on this site.
You will have a fair bit of reading to do and research but if you are unsure about anything ask away. Unit Trusts go down in price as well as up but over a long period should produce a worthwhile investment - far better than putting all your disposable cash into Bank and Building Society accounts. Of course, if you need access to your money then bank savings accounts are best as stocks and shares ISAs are long term investments.Take my advice at your peril.0 -
HL are only cost efficient for holding investments in Unit Trusts or OIECs. If you want to [eventually] invest directly in stocks or shares of a company open an account with a different provider as HL have quite a high charging structure for non-commission based investments.liamcowan1 wrote: »mike88 - Thank you for the link, I'm definitely going to be checking that out on Thursday (my day off) I love the sound of the S&S ISA's. Jake'sGran - Oooh thank you for the information. I'm definitely interested in getting into investment and you sound like you know a thing or two

I don't think the original poster is anywhere near the point where he will be ready to invest in individual stocks. Apart from the fact he is new at all this, he has no capital and wants to invest monthly.Take my advice at your peril.0 -
Mike, I don't dissagree but....
a) It needs to be made clear as many people have fallen foul of this aspect with HL
b) Its not unheard of people believing they can run before they can walk.Personal Responsibility - Sad but True

@mike88 - thank you for the link, I'll check it out tomorrow. I'm definitely looking for a long term investment and I'm more than capable of adding £50 per month in an S&S ISA, I'm assuming I'm able to put as much as I can afford into this (aslong as it's more than £50!) is that right?
@cloud_dog - thanks for posting, I'm definitely not going to jump in at the deep end, I'd rather wait a few years, saving capital to start investing into individual companies when I'm ready and know the markets.
I'll read through the information you've given me tomorrow and ask more questions then
