One point: bigger is not necessarily better. If your room is not big enough, a screen that is too big will always be too big (unless you move house...).

If you search the internet you will find guides out there that give minimum comfortable viewing distances for a given screen size - I'd guess that with a 52" screen you would need to be at least 3m away, and possibly even 4m for long-term comfort.
  • @Fwor thanks lot ...yea we do have a big house to accommodate large screen ..We just want to know which is of more quality in picture among the two. as 1 is LED and the other is LCD

I'd rate the Sony above the LG on this one

LED is superior to LCD plus you have full HD and 46" is probably big enough - go with the Sony!

Much more important at that size is the quality of its 'upscaler'

  • Thanks to you all Guys,

@alienRIK....... when you say upscaler do you mean input devices like sky box and dvd ? if so we got the HD ones..... we just want to decide inbetween the 2 TV.

I mean when you feed it an SD picture (none HD) and it scales it to fit the screen

With regards to the tvs, I wouldnt go with either
The Sony range of LEDs tend to be poor compared to their LCD counterparts. So id go with a sony but an LCD instead

  • We use only SKY HD BOX for both SD and HD .....seems to produce a good picture on all channels on our present TV ...we just upgrading to abigger screen hence the need to make a choice among this two TV's

I think your completely misunderstanding what im saying. If you use your skybox to send an SD picture, it would look awful on a tv with a bad scaler. Dont assume a bigger tv will be a better picture
