  • i can also recommend Southport pontins for effort that the blue coats put in, ive been to the prestatyn one aswell but the blue coats all look like everything is too much of an effort for them.

I'll definately be booking this, its great for kids, the shows are great, and in southport theres also lots of places for the kids to go in the surrounding areas.

    thanks for this
  • ill be booking this too! I know pontins is not everyones cup of tea, but my kids (us too!) like to have a little break there, usually the camber site, yes it does need quite a bit of rebuilding, but we love the beach & kids love the night time entertainment, its something we have done for many years
  • I drive past the Southport one every day and it realy does look like a dismal hole! I've never been on a holiday to a Pontin's so cant comment on what they offer but they really dont do themselves any favours with the old fashioned, dreary exterior!
You bowl like your mother. Unless of course she bowls well, in which case you bowl nothing like her <3 Big Bang Theory :)
  • Thing is, kids dont look at the decor of places its just us adults, all their bothered about is the evening shows and funfair and how many sweets they've got, and these places are designed for kids, and my kid loves this place with a passion, so that makes us happy.

Last year when we went typical shows we saw were Same Difference (brother and sister off xfactor), scooby doo show, rainbow show and magicians, the kids loved it.

Holidays are what you make of them :j

Unfortunately Pontins won't let us take our doggies with us (same with Butlins) so we won't be able to use this offer ... luckily we can book a holiday with The Sun and take our furry family along :D xx

  • I really would not go to pontins again if someone payed me!! We went there last september and stayed in their apparently middle accomadation at camber sands. We were meant to be there for a week, but went home after 4 days. It was DISGUSTING!! There was an army of ants crawling up the (paperthin) walls in the kitchen, which got into all the food and crawled all over the sides. I rang the helpdesk prob around 5 times daily.. each time they came out and just put down ant cleaner, and cleaned the sides with filthy cloths! They offered to move me to another apartment.. I went to move there.. and guess what?? same problem!!!
The mattresses were filthy and stained, and only covered with a threadbare sheet. The carpets were stained and your feet literally stuck to them, the whole place looked as if it was falling down!
I have never ever been anywhere that has made me feel so dirty!! eEven the bathroom was disgusting so you never felt clean!
I complained and they offered me a free holiday.. it was that bad that I refused.
I am NOT a snob by any means and love a good British holiday, I dont expect 5* and dont mind 'roughing' it a bit, have been to all the other uk holiday makers and loved them all especially Haven!.. this however was literally unbeliavable!
So anyway.. dont mean to be negative but please consider it before you book.. particulary at Camber sands!

would recommend that people upgrade to their 'club' accomodation - very clean, fresh linen daily, mod cons. Have booked five chalets for family this year, we all go each year and realy enjoy it. The kids can play safely, the adults can relax and then in the evenings we go and see the entertainment. Also included in the club accomodation is the electricity, which I have heard from other people can be really dear, so if you go then definately upgrade!
