in Credit cards
hi, I opened a credit card in october 2010 from santander to help me to move all my balances onto the one card. one particular balance transfer has been a total nightmare from day one. THe amount was for £778 plus the balance transfer fee. I was paying off a next store card. Problem was that the credit card paid it twice but next credited it only once so £778 vanished into thin air. In november when i got my statement in I noticed this and called them and there was nothing they could do as next had the money in a holding account and i had to get it back. So since then I have been calling both parties and next have now told me that they sent the money back on the 15th december which I can see for myself on my next statement. Santander say they dont have the money but usually it only takes 3 working days to get money back so where has it gone? I'm tired now of calling them to get money back that they sent wrongly. Who do I go to or what can I do to get this money back pronto!? any advice would be much appreciated
thanks
thanks

OK, if Next has sent it, you need to ask them what details they used. You need whcih sort code, account number and 16 digit card number on your Santander account they used. If they only used the former 2, it's likely to have gone to a Santander Suspense account in which case Next needs to get in touch with Santanderto do a bacs trace. The 16 digit number is needed to make the payment unique to yourself otherwise it is very difficult to track.0

Once you've been here awhile you'll see that this was your first mistake. Santander have an extremely poor reputation around here.
You should get your money back but it may take some time. Are you for real? - Glass Half Empty??

thanks, i am going to try and sort it tomorro because both sides have told me that a certain dept is not open weekends. problem is that i get angry on the phone. santander have given us £20 credit to our account for the hassle. do u think i should tell them to stick it and its been a lot more hassle than they have compensated us for?0
