I ordered a carpet from a large chain, and even went to the trouble of taking in wallpaper and paint samples into the store to match it up. essentially it comes down to how different the product is from what you saw

as mentioned you have protection regarding the product being different from sample

question is how different. they are right in saying carpet can look different in a shop from when its laid in a house.
