How do I stop Quick Time/AOL reminder every time I log on/shut down??!!

Hi all

I've got two very annoying problems & can't sort them;

1) every time I click to start AOL a banner comes up saying I haven't installed Quick Time player & would I like to do it now. I took QT off my PC via the control panel but can't get rid of this reminder.

2) When I shut my PC down I frequently get a window saying the current programme is still running & I have to click on the box to end it or it won't shut down. The programme it refers to is AOLdial.exe but I've got B/Band so wonder why this is running, especially as I always log off AOL before shutting the PC down.

Any advice gratefully received.

Unless you are a diehard AOL fan the best advice is to get rid of all AOL bloatware from your PC; you can do this even if AOL is your ISP and still be able to access the internet normally.

If you are happy to do this just Google for 'removing all AOL software.'

As far as no2 is concerned...Start..Run...Type in msconfig.. OK..Startup Tab...and then untick the box which says AOLDIAL...OK...and then restart the PC...Not entirely sure about No1, but it might be worth unticking anything you find in the Startup Tab as well that relates to QT...:0)
