A1 travel refund!

  • All sounds so familiar! Booked with A1 travel to go to Egypt last October, paid in full by debit card in August, then Kiss went bust. We rebooked easyjet flights direct and filled in all the forms as instructed by A1 for the flight refund. Despite numerous emails and being fobbed off I am still waiting for a refund of £1074. Received a letter from CEGA dated 8 June 2011 acknowledging safe receipt of my claim and informing me the CAA are currently collating the necessary info to assess and validate the claim. The funniest comment is they request I refrain from contacting them as this will impact on their ability to process my claim. They have had my money 12 months now, at what point the consumer receive fair treatment? Looking at all these posts on here makes you wonder whether we actually have any consumer rights and protection and wonder why we are all being walked over by these theiving beaurocrats! Good luck all.
  • Still waiting for my over £500 refund from them Just think in 2 weeks time from today a year ago 2010 (keep up) I would have been going to Turkey, A1 quick enough to take my booking agreed they have to get the money back but 11months and 2 weeks a joke A1. COME ON PAY ME UP!!!!!:mad::mad:

This should act as a warning to everyone, if a company cannot refund within a year, it is probably not a business you put at the top of your list. I have already seen stories of people booked this month to Turkey who only discovered they were booked with Holidays4U after the company ceased trading. This is not the way a travel agent should be doing business, anyone who is waiting a year needs to complain to ABTA immediately, there is strength in numbers!
