  • Apple computers have slot loading drives which CANNOT handle mini sized CDs - the mechanism can't grab it, nor can it push it out. I'm afraid the only way to get it out is going to be to dismantle the computer to get to the drive, and then remove it by hand.

I think he needs to take it to an Apple store (if they have those in Greece), or send it off to them. Using a local repairer would void the warranty if it is a brand new computer.
  • Insert two pieces of paper either side of the cd and hit the eject button, you may find that the pieces of paper will give the cd enough grip to be pushed out. I did this once when I put a mini cd into the tv's built-in dvd player, and it tried and failed to eject.

Just make sure you don't press hard with the pieces of paper, feel around gently, and if you're lucky, you will be able to get it out. If it doesn't try to eject, or doesn't come out, then yes, you'll have to go to an apple shop or dismantle and invalidate any warranty applicable...

the problem he s got is he cant find where to click eject as it doesnt appear on screen..
before there was a eject tab on screen now none.
i found through apple forums a credit card with a gafa tape on it is the best way and he tried and managed to get it out a bit and then went in again;)
    its a love story;)

told him to ask in shops for a ''hammer'' but didnt tell him what ''hammer'' means ;)

The idea of the paper sounds good.
    Doesn't Apple=E eject?
Would pushing the disk back in get it to the point that it would be sensed again?
  • I had this problem once, I had to get my local apple centre to remove the mini CD for me - they did it for free?

If he restarts the computer and holds down the mouse click whilst restarting that does a force eject - though it may not work if the mechanism does not catch the mini CD.

I doubt the mini CD would reach the spindle as the pull mechnanism is set for the normal CD size so the hole would have been in the wrong place if it tried to push the disc down.
