We area coupleof 21 y olds witha 1 y old son,my parther is an apprentice footballer with a non league club and trains and plays full time,I stay at home caring for Noah.
We currently live with our parents ,but we now have the chance to move into a nice rented property which we are excited about.
Of course we have done our research re benefits as my partners salary is very very low,not every footballer gets wayne rooneys wage!!! actually below minimum wage.
Please can you offer us some general advice re household budgets, where to buy the goods we need to furnish the property(a small 2 bedroom cottage)second hand is fine.
In other words any helpful advice.thank you and happy new year.

It would be worth checking if you have a housing charity nearby - some are able to provide basic furnishings either for free or at very low cost.

gumtree, your local freecycle, will help with furnishings, bits and bobs, possibly entitled to a community care grant or budgeting loan if your on income support, ESA, ETC. dont know about you but i have a few too good to waste outlets nearby, where furniture and electrical items have been sourced from house clearances, repossetions of tv's etv that are at good prices for low income families.0
