Pricing at Tescos

If you buy products going by the amount per 100grams, mls etc etc, always, always check the amount by working out on a little calculator if you are trying to be very canny with your cash. I've noticed quite a few things recently that don't tally when you work them out, Tescos will price them at less per 100ml etc, when in fact they are dearer than they state.

Example...

Tesco Non Bio liquid wash 1.5 litres, priced at £2.30. States £1.15 per litre, it's actually £1.53 per litre.

Quakers Seasons Lime & Coriander Crisps, 28 gram bag, priced at 39p. States £1.12 per 100 grams. It's actually £1.39 per 100grams.

These prices are on the sels as well as online.

Work things out yourself, don't trust Tesco's calculations, fly as a bag as monkies.

Sounds like an idiot works at your local Tesco.

Give your local Trading Standards a call and tell them. Worth it just to give the local Tesco manager a bad day!

Also this will give the more canny amongst us an opportunity to fleece Tesco with R+Rs, as those items you have listed would qualify as overcharge mis-prices!!

The SELs on these items state the price as being £2.30/£0.39 etc but the price per 100g/mls etc is as stated above. I did draw this to the attention of the Store Manager at my local store some weeks ago and the price is still as stated for the 100grams etc. Hmmmm. Fly so and sos.

I ALWAYS check the price per whatever, don't trust Tescos as far as I can throw them.

No wonder they makes billions of pounds in profit every year, at the expense of the people who shop blind and just throw things in their trollies without considering their purchases first, money to burn....

Perhaps if you find anything incorrectly priced this way, by the 100ml/100g etc it should be put on the misprice thread??
