Short Term Credit Card Advice

Hello,
I am going out to South Africa in August which is funded by grants and fundraising and the money wont be in until the end of June. I am unable to borrow the money off friends but have access to a credit card on which i can book the flights.

Does anyone know how much interest i will pay on £3000 for 6 months at 18.9%. I am unable to get a cheaper loan or 0% card.

The reason i want to book now is that the lights are likely to go up by £300 or £400 by june and im trying to work out which is cheapest.

I estimate interest on £3,000 at 18.9% APR for 6m to be about £270 but this doesn't take account of any monthly minimum payments so it should be a little less.

£3000 x 18.9% = £567 / 2 = £283.50 for 6 months and like Consumerist mentioned, the interest should be less as you will make payments each month. Maybe you can apply for a 0% credit card on purchases for 6 months?
