hi my partner is currently renting with 2 friends (1 of which actually owns the house with his girlfriend-my friend)..we have been offered to rent off my partners boss (also a good friend of his) in a few months time as moving in together would mean we saw each other more than we do now..(as he works all over the Uk).my partners credit file is excellent and he has never missed a payment as he earns good money..however 2 years ago I was let go from my job and had money problems all that year..so I set myself up on a dmp with cccs to help pay my debts with my creditors..
I am currently working in a full time, permanent position which pays a reasonable wage each month and have done since Feb last year. (I also worked for the company previously for 12months on a casual basis so I have all wage slips to prove this)..I have no problem making any payments now as u am trying to better myself.
obviously renting, my partner will be fine, but I'm worried I will have trouble as my credit rating is very poor at the moment.
can someone please offer me any advice as to what will happen-credit checks/offers of deposit etc so we can still rent together?!
thank you very much

I can't really, but I just wanted to suggest you consider something. If your partner falls out with his boss or gets fired/made redundant, are you going to suddenly find yourselves homeless and him jobless too? Think carefully before you decide to rent your home off an employer.current debt as at 10/01/11- £12500

thank u for the quick response...
no we would luckily never be homeless as both of our parents are divorced and have new families, therefore 4 more places 2 live if we had 2fall back on something..
if he was to be let go from his job,it probably wouldn't really make a difference as he already has a few companies already after him at any point as the line of work he does is worldly after people.
he has known his boss 4 about 12 years and I've known their family about 3 years and get on really well with them..so I don't think that would ever be an issue0
