I have been unemployed since June but luckily due to start a new job with a new company on Monday.
My 0% deal on my Halifax CC is about to run out.

How long should I wait before applying as its a new job?

Cheers

What's your credit record like? If it's in good shape and you haven't made any recent applications, then I would probably try one application next week, once you've actually started work. If you don't get it, then leave it for three to six months and try again.

My reasoning is that a single application now won't have much effect 3 months down the line so there's no harm in trying.
My posts are my own opinions based on my experiences and info gathered from sites such as this.

My history is virtually perfect and not been refused credit in last 3 years with no credit applications in at leat 6 months so might give it a go..

EDIT:Forgot to ask-on the application bound to ask how long I've been with current employer. If I respond '1 week' is this likely to work against me?
(Not sure how long length of service counts Versus credit history)

Basically I'm thinking of applying for the Barclaycard Platinum 17 months @0% deal if that matters....

    Cheers again

If you're credit history is as perfect as you say it is, then it should be ok. There will not be a 1 week option, the min is 1 month.

Be in the job between 3-6 months then apply. As well as their other criteria, having some sort of job stability is a good thing.

Go through their online application form and see if it ask you how long you've been in employment. Some banks do, some don't.
