I tend to cheat (as I like it a bit frothy and never have enough milk around)

I use 3/4 mug of water per person.
Milk powder to make it up to the appropriate amount of milk.
Cocoa to for the appropriate amount of water (According to the instructions on the cocoa container)
about 2 squares of 70% cocoa chocolate
a pinch of cayenne (chili) pepper
    a good slug of brandy.

Boil the water in the kettle - pour into a running blender (carefully now) _pale_ if it's running it shouldn't splash up the way that it does if you pour it in and turn it on.

Gently add the ingredients and keep running for about 30 seconds more.

Serve it up - frothy hot chocolate.:D

Add a bit of coffee powder instead of chili for Mocha or Vanilla for a gentler taste.

I could make it better myself at home. All I need is a small aubergine...

I moved to Liverpool for a better life.
And goodness, it's turned out to be better and busier!

Yeah they have flakey choc for hot chocolate as well, you just heat up a mug of milk and stir them into it. Well Lush.
It's not easy having a good time. Even smiling makes my face ache.

That's the one!!!! It is a fabulous shop, isn't it? Their choc espressos are to die for. Mind you, I drew the line at paying a fiver for a piece of cake, mainly because I couldn't decide which one to get :D
    isn't it brilliant? :)

I love the the feel of the place, the faded, worn, Art Nouveau decor, the glass of water they put on the table when you sit down because the chocolate's so rich, & the staff are lovely too

I sent some friends there last week & their favourite was the espresso too

couldn't have managed cake, the chocolate was a meal in itself!

I'm having the sampler next time I go :D

Swan, do you mind me asking, I have been looking for ages for a decent box of chocolates for my grandad who is turning 90. Do the chocolates from your shop mentioned really look like the ones in the photo, they look like mini works of art and I know he and my sweet toothed Grandma would really appreciate them but especially so if they came looking as they do?
I saw some in a glass case at the counter & they looked spectacular!

very expensive, but they'd be wonderful for a treat for someone special :)
