Anyone stayed here recently and can comment please?

I'm tearing my hair out lately wading through Tripadvisor hotel reviews, which seem to be full of one-contribution-only-posters expressing views at each extreme of the spectrum about the same hotel at the same time!

    Hi
My friend has just come back from spending 2 nights in this hotel, she only spent 2 nights, because someone was in her apt on ps2,
i've also walked past it for the past week.
It's a lovely hotel in a great location

What is it that you want to know about the hotel?

We looked at this hotel after a bad stay across the road at the Conquistador, cockroaches and dirty tap water and lots of Germans. After looking round and reading reviews we decided against this hotel and had two weeks at the Bouganville which were great. Views from all rooms, good food and atmosphere.

We will probably go there again this year, unless the Guayarmina Princess comes up at a good price.

    Thanks both.

Chris, what did your friend think?

We stayed in Bougainville Playa last time and thought it was really nice. Wanted a similar hotel closer to PDLA/Los Cristianos this time, only got 5 nights from 20th January. La Siesta was coming up at £329 for 2 /half board/ 5 nights.

Looking for half board with good reviews for the food, doesn't need to be luxurious as long as clean and in good order, nice pool area etc. Don't mind Germans LOL!

La Siesta sounds like it would tick the boxes from the website, but actually had a look at Thomsons own reviews about it and they are decidedly iffy too, esp about the food :(

Back to the drawing board I think

    Hi
As i said she did only stay here for 2 nights because someone was in her apt, and it was on a b/b basis only. I've just spoke to her, and she said everything was fine, room good, pool fine, location excellent, and she thought that the breakfast was good.

I've read the reviews on ta, and to be honest i'm a bit unsure about the really bad ones, as they seem to be from a newbie, which does make me wonder if someone had a bad holiday there, so comes on and slates the place, how many people day in day out go there and have a fab time, and don't post so.

In this area i have stayed at the Gala hotel, opposit starcos, and whilst the location isn't the best, it is the best 4* hotel i've stayed in around this area, ok you walk past starcos to get home, but that's not a problem for me, the food here was fantastic, cuttle fish and sucking of pig to name a few, yet if you read the reviews on ta, i would not think it was the same hotel.
Failing that, my s-i-l stayed at the vulcano, and she said it was brilliant, food good.
Maybe you could look at the next priced hotel up, i've just returned from a week at the tenerife sol hotel, stayed b.b over the new year, and i found it fine, not the ritz but i was more than happy, room fine, lots of choice for breakfast, location not the best, nextdoor to veronicas, but i asked to be put into block b, and i was in room 961 floor 9 end room overlooking leonardos, there was a bit of noise from 8.00pm till about 2.00pm, but as i wasn't in much earlier than this i didn't hear any noise. I also managed to get a sunbed at the pool each day at around 10.30am.

hope you get sorted soon, x
