Nigel Slater's Toast is on there. I didn't know he had a biography out but it was on television recently.. just after Christmas I think. I really like his style of cooking. I found the televised version of "Toast" surprisingly good :) He actually starred in it too towards the end!
I think I would enjoy reading the book.

here is a tip, use the url when searching.
That doesn't always work either, I have searched for URLs when I am posting a new freebie myself and nothing has come up, and then someone with too much time on their hands has dug some months-old post up for the same offer, although if there is a large time difference it is likely to be a new release of the offer so in my opinion a new post should be made in any event.

It is very discouraging to posters (particularly new members) to have people constantly flagging up accidental repeat posts - there are tens (if not hundreds) of thousands of posts on this forum and so long as people aren't repeating posts made within the last week or two I see no reason to complain. Maybe MSE should have a clearout of old freebie posts instead!

I was really surprised by how much I liked Toast on the box. It had a great sense of the time.

This is an excellent tip ..... BUT ...

Remember the acronym KISS - Keep It Simple (Stupid) :) - no offence meant

    OR .....

the search function DOESN'T find it because the "existing" already posted URL (or ANY WORD that you are searching for) has been "buried" and "gets lost" amongst bold, underline, size, color, font etc. etc. formatting commands that are used WITHOUT ANY SPACES BEFORE AND AFTER whatever you are looking for.

    eg. (with < representing [ and > for ] )

Searching for WORD doesn't find WORD

    BUT will find WORD

Having said that the :(:(:(:( with this thread, is the OP's comments starting with

"I have tried searching using various terms, but surprisingly couldn't find this posted."

As I said, I did a thorough search using various terms but did not find it, so please accept my apologies and also the limitations of MSE's search funtion. .................................

The search facility DOES FIND the previously started threads on this offer using the words

    WORLD BOOK NIGHT

And, although it does find additional threads containing these words that are not about this offer, the correct ones are on the first page of results

Furthermore WORLDBOOKNIGHT (as in https://www.worldbooknight.org ) finds JUST the threads you are looking for.

    Hope this helps :)

Oh for goodness sake - I feel well and truely slapped on the wrist (not!). Does it really matter? - I think not. Just as well I am not a newbie though otherwise I would feel quite intimidated by this sort of thing.

Just relax please and go and read a good book!

    Thanks Jap!

I understand your point of view, most of the times I dont want to post things either because some people are mean...
Anyway, I think the forum is a great place!

I just received an email saying they will chose people next week, but that I should prepare myself because I was one of the first to apply for my book (Rachel's Holiday)!

Looking forward to receive the books, and to give them as well!
