Outsourcing: The Know-how?

  • 1) Your English just isn't good enough to convince a UK company that you could deliver the goods.

    2) You also seem to have little idea of how big the pool actually is that you're hoping to swim in.

    1) i dont think i need a very good command of english(written and oral) to venture into this.

Have you ever heard Roman Abramovich speak english?

    2) I agreed with ya 100%

I think the fact that Abramovich is a billionaire, we can forgive him his lack of command over the english language, and besides he is not trying to convince large companies to outsource to foreign countries.

You are on a hiding to nothing here. The only way companies will consider it if its totally proven to them that this will work, and if its saving them millions. They arent going to speak to an individual who thinks it *might* work.

You have no idea of the immensity of what you are suggesting. Trust me on this. I was a director in a 1500 seater call centre and we set up a company and opened up a call centre in eastern Europe and wooed even our own established clients out to it, wined and dined them, and showed them the savings possible and most still wouldnt bite. We also established contact with a company in the phillipines and formed a partnership with them and flew prospective clients out and it was still a massive uphill struggle.

You may as well be suggesting building a rocket to go to the moon as it has as much chance of success.

Sorry for the bluntness, but it needs said.

Do UK companies have option? Cheap labourrrrrrrr

Of course they have an option!! They can choose wherever they want their call centre to be. For example Lloyds TSB's call centre is UK based.
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

OP, I really think you should go ahead - it is a great idea.

Disclaimer - I don't actually think it is a great idea but sometimes people will ask for advice and ignore it all, no matter how good it is. There are those who keep plugging away until they hear something they want to hear and invariably seize on that - so there you go.

I think you have been incredibly fortunate to find someone with experience in this industry (pgilc1) on this forum but if you want to rubbish reasoned replies then there really is no helping you. It is your life so if you want to risk your money just go ahead.

    Kay

I am really trying to get across to you the immensity of what you are proposing doing, and i apologise if some of that message comes across with frustration as you simply dont seem to 'get it'.

Even the simple things like legislation around UK data being passed to offshore companies, calling legislation, call recording, recording of credit card details, effective costing of international calls, CRM development, remote management of people, financials, costing, billing, billing disputes, contractuals - its just impossible for one person to link one company here to another organistion in another country and have no idea at all on how to deal with the complexities involved.

So by all means laugh it off, but you're now coming across as a clueless idiot.
