claiming JSA and working

I get contribution based Job Seekers Allowance. I have been offered 2.5 hours per week of work (worth about £20). My first thought was that this was good because I can work upto 16 hours and still claim? But someone now tells me I will have this £20 deducted from my benefit-penny for penny. Travelling to this work will cost around £4 in fares so I would be worse off by accepting it. Can someone confirm that this is correct?:undecided
