Perhaps do a syndication deal with theregister or bloggers for content? Even a bad article would take me 30 mins to be anything more than an arrangement of keywords into reasonable English, and we'd still need to deep link images/vids for the tech conferences. So 5 at 30', and allow 30' for sorting out, it's 3 hrs/day or 18-21hrs/week, or half-time work.
As much as I'd love to help, I think that would go stale after a week or so, or if I felt really motivated to do it, I'd probably look to freelance writing for the bigger sites. I don't think a few trade samples would really make it work in the face of rent and bills, alas.0
