Fasttrackuk.com - Anyone heard of them?

Hi folks,

Not 100% sure this is the correct place for this but i'll ask anyway.

Has anyone heard of them or even dealt with them ?

I've had a call from them and they claim to have a 'secret' winning formula to make impressive returns using the stock market, ISA's etc. Being ever sceptical i keep thinking ... what's in it for them ? .... if it's so good why tell anyone else ?

Would appreciate any feedback from people that have had any dealings with them.....good or bad!!

All other thoughts welcome.

Cheers.

Ayrshire

Cold calling on investments is against FSA rules. Chances are that they are not legit as I cannot believe that a proper investment firm would do that.

  • Hi dunstonh,

Not so much a cold call ..... i'd downloaded their 'ebook' (don't think i'd got round to reading it yet) via another source ... hence why they had my contact details.

They claim to have a way to maximise ISA's etc and make large tax free gains/income/earnings but i'm a bit worried that it may end up costing me money so i'm VERY unlikely to progress the matter.

Think their website is https://www.fasttrackuk.com ...... they also claim to be an education type company... so maybe they wanna make their fortune from selling books n courses... i dunno. Just can't understand why they'd share (or sell) their winning idea if it was making the big returns they claim.

It's that 'if it sounds too good to be true it probably is!' scenario i guess.

I'm not sure you invest with/via them so maybe not so illegal.

Or maybe i don't trust the stock market......millions of people (me included) have a pension fund where 'experts' are betting on the stocks n shares.

If only i had a crystal ball eh!!

Ok. I'm going to be judgemental which usually results in irritating some and getting agreement from others. No sitting on the fence here ;)

That website front page is awful and the American style approach just blows it for me. You arent buying the investments through them but their services. So, they make their money on the publications. Anyone can use past performance to say what you should have done.

And doing a very good job too if you have a proper sector allocated portfolio which is available within most tax wrappers including ISAs and pensions.

You dont need a crystal ball for sensible returns. If you invested prior to the crash in 2001 and only obtained sector average returns in a sector allocated portfolio with annual rebalancing you would still have got into double figure returns on average per year.

All it takes is making sure that your investments are in modern arrangements (post 2001 generally which is when charges started to drop big time and flexibility improved) and that you have a decent fund spread across the sectors that averages out to match your risk profile. Then periodically rebalance it.

Dont waste your money on those publications which only make one person rich...the author.

  • No irritation here.... just happy to listen to different sides oh the coin. To behonest (as you may have picked up from the original post) i wasn't really sold on the idea .... i try to put myself in there shoes n thought ... why would i 'share' the info ..... none ... unless my real underlying business was selling books.

Fair play if they do have a good idea and if others have taken it on and made money .... me.... i just don't feel at ease and i'll be steering clear. I still don't trust the stock market but i appreciate i don't know enough about it so maybe my doubts are unfounded.

I'll leave the pension contributions alone and see what they produce in the years to come ..... i think i'm in some managed fund type thing via my employer which gets 'safer' as retirement gets closer (if that makes sense).

Cheers for the comments Dunstonh ;)

Isn't it really amazing? !!! Even in 2006, it's possible to have a group of !!!!!! get together with some very dubious funding on a hiding to nothing and expect possible success!

Who in the name of Sweet Suffering Jesus put the web-page together? Some wedding photographer suggested a 'cheese' moment in a wine-bar in Bognor; and the owl-eared incumbents obliged?

If anyone who's even spent 20 mins reading MSE and whose mother allowed them outside the front gate for more than half an hour, even thinks twice about investing a cent with this crowd of !!!!!!, then there's no hope. Seriously...........there REALLY is no hope!
