Paid via wrong method, any chance of rectifying problem? (Paypal)

I bought a phone for £53, this one is actually for myself, and I paid via paypal. I put a credit card on there and paid the amount asap but after realised it went though the bank. 1. doesnt this take longer? 2. I only have £40 in there so will be £13 odd overdraft!!!!
I messeged the seller and asked if it will be possible to reject payment or refund? So I can pay via credit card again?
It said 'primary' next to the credit card so I thought that meant it will take money out of that first and if that failed my bank account.
I usually dont mind which method is used but this is the first time I wanted to pay through my credit card and its turning out to be somewhat of a disaster.
Thanks for the help,

Hopefully the seller will accept and let you do it that way. If not, i know when i pay through the bank like that it takes 3 days to come out of my account so i can put the funds in until the day it comes off of the actual balance and not just the available balance - if you do online banking i'd give your balances a quick check if i were you, or call them. Im with Abbey and that it how they seem to work.
Hope this helps a bit!Mummy of 3 lovely munchkins :smileyhea0
