Seraquin - is there a cheaper alternative?

Hi again,
I give Zara Seraquin for her joints, she was on 3.5 tablets per day, now on 3 tablets per day.
A box of 60 tablets costs around £15 from animeddirect (the cheapest I could find) so it works out around £23 per month.
Does anyone know of a good, cheaper alternative to this?
Zara is only 4.5 years old but being a Gumtree baby and being fed some tesco "senior dog" for the first 4 months of her life - she had problems with her joints from pretty much when I got her.
The seraquin was perscribed by the vet when she was a pup, gave it to her till she was 1 year old, stopped and started again about 3 months ago as noticed that her back legs get funny after a long walk (feet go kind of inwards and sometimes she drags her legs too)
I will be taking her to a vet next week (with 2 cats for their 2nd vaccine and 2 cats for their first - dread the bill...grrrr) to see if she maybe needs an xray on her back legs but still like to give her supplement for the joints...
Any ideas apart from the seraquin? Or is it the best there is?
Thanks a lot

Theres some discussion here about cheaper alternatives (starts off in 2007 but some more recent comments towards the end of the thread):

cosequin may be cheaper? Have you tried vetuk? There's some green mussel extract stuff from NZ but not sure what it costs.
sounds like your dog may have to have anti inflammatory injections or drugs too, like my brother's sweet rescue dog.0 -
You could look into Cortaflex....the one I bought for my cat came in a pretty large tub. Also....did you read that link I sent you before re use of Vitamin C for hip dysplasia???0
