    Did you work for TCO - 'cos many people find the system just far too complicated!

    Thanks - no never worked for TCO, I had a few problems in the early days of tax credits and to sort them out I tried to understand the system as best I could - being a bit sad I even enjoyed it, and being a !!!!!! able to quote manual pages and sections of legislation to TCO staff who were telling me rubbish over the phone (but I have to say they seem to have improved greatly over the years).

    Then in recent years several friends and relations have had problems and asked me for advice and some even told their mates "I know someone who understand tax credits" so I've spent quite a lot of time digging into the rules.
