laptop internet connection

my husband has a laptop offshore and was wondering how he could get connected to the internet?

what is this about wireless connectin? or is this for something completley different?

    Providing he has access to a phoneline, he can have either wireless or wired internet connection, router/modem dependant.

    Is he in reach of a mobile signal? I have a 3G card which gives me a completely wireless connection over the mobile network.

    Will Check With Him But As He Is In North Sea, Quite Often He Isnt In Normal Phone Range
