PC doesn't recognise new CD?

If you are in the 'know how', you could try and uninstall the cd device, then re-install with updated drivers.
Some versions of windows do this automatically, some don't0 -

do you know the make and model of the CD drive?
If you do then you could go to the manufacturer website - look for the support section and try to find the drivers for your device.
If you don't know then you could use device manager to try to find out the device make.
(device manager is usually found in Control Panel > System > Click on Hardware tab > Device Manager. but it may depend on the operating system you are using).Don't try to teach a pig to sing - it wastes your time and annoys the pig0
