    Wow what a great thread! Very new to this gardening milarky so doing lots of googling - but I now know what a chit and germinating are!

    Thanks for the reminder and lovely thread. I ordered some seeds last night from the real seed co especially because they say you can collect seed from their plants that will come true, and they have lots of early varieties - after last year's weather, that feels important. As usual tomatoes were hopeless but peppers did ripen in the end (about Nov!) in the conservatory... possible share in allotment beckons, 2 hungry rabbits to feed...

    I read all the gardening threads too. I have three bell pepper plants on my window sill, each has two medium sized peppers which have ripened into a yellow colour. The seed packed was red but they still taste good.

    aims for 2014 - grow more fruit and veg, declutter
