DVD player to go with my new Sony Bravia 32" (not blue ray

I've just bought the 32" Sony from John Lewis .. Kdl32ex403
Really pleased with it, great picture and ease of setup was perfect

I now need a DVD player preferably Sony I'd like an upscaler type as I don't want to waste £10 on a blu ray DVD film when I can get the same film on DVD for a few quid .. Can anyone recommend one, also does a blue ray play standard DVDs

If the blu ray does play standard dvd's i'd happily buy one.

Bump anyone out there..

will a normal dvd player work fine on a HD TV, I'm not interested in latest Gadgets, so advice appreciated

o Blu-Ray players will playback DVDs

o As for what to buy, depends on your budget.
o DVD player will be cheaper than a Blu-Ray player, but you may want a Blu-Ray player sooner rather than later.

In 2009, when I purchased my first HD TV (Toshiba), I already had a DVD Recorder (Sony) with hard drive, which did upscaling. I was given a Blu-Ray player the following Christmas (Tevion). All work together nicely.

thanks for the advice, less than a hundred quid looks like a good price.

can any now confirm a standard DVD on a normal DVD player on a 32" HD TV will look ok, or do i need an upscaler, i thought blu ray only mattered when you go onto massive TVs 50" plus :rotfl:
