I'm looking for a FREE ONLINE application that will preferably convert files (docs etc) or at least copy and pasted text into speech that can be downloaded as an mp3.
I have tried a few and alot are only demos with limited function.
The ones that seem to work are Does anyone know any others and how have you found them?

Just checked your links and realise your after something slightly different ONLINE:rotfl:
So what follows may well be of little value:rotfl:
TTS reader and pehaps readplease will be worth a look.
Youll need to download more voices probably, there not real though so sounds like computer voice if you know what i mean.
The thought of all my guthenburg text becoming audiobooks overnight appeals to me no end.
unfortunatly, though i havn't tried for at least 12 months,I think the software and quality just aint there yet at least not in freeware. Also you have to play the text to record so a book would take ages.0 -

Just found this at MajorGeeks.com - Balabolka is a free Text-To-Speech (TTS) program, the on-screen text can be saved as a WAV, MP3, MP4, OGG or WMA file.

Thank you SOOOOO much - this program is excellent!!!!!!!
Allows you to import PDF's and Docs directly, conversion doesn't take too long (even large amounts of txt), will even do different languages (could be useful if learning a language) - only minor downside seems to be the voice, but might be able to change this.0 -
Has anyone managed to find any more voices for this

There are some extra voices at http://www.bytecool.com/voices.htm but I think they only work with Windows XP
You can buy additional voices at http://www.ivona.com/voices.php - I assume they are added to the Microsoft speech engine, check before buying. They are expensive starting at $35.0 -
try ispeech.org , a friend recommended the other day. it is astoundingly good. and free0
