starter motor

Please can someone advise where the make of starter motor is found as the motor factor said there is more than one type for my vehicle. Many thanks for any advise.

Only way on my ducato was to take it off, and get one the same.
Number of teeth can be different, even on the same manufacturer.

if its not on the sides of the motor or solenoid then it will be on the mating face of the starter.

Usually they're so covered with crud that the only way to find out is to take the thing off.

Best way is to get it off as the corrosion/dirt will make it difficult to see what brand it is. You can then have a look on https://www.eurocarparts.com to see various brands for your vehicle.

Any time I've gone to a motorfactor they can put my registration mark into their computer and tell me.
Happened with the type of oil I needed recently and for Gf needing wipers (computer told us the size we needed)

can't they search your vehicle using their system?
