An educated guess. Something you could do is to get your solicitor to 'return papers' - this is coveyancerese for cease legal work on the sale by returning the essential paperwork to the other side. This is done for 1 of 2 reasonsHi, timmyt.
Sorry, didn't really comprehend your post. Please explain.....- To terminate the sale process permanently
- To terminate the sale process tactically

I imagine there could be professional reasons for an uninvolved solicitor not to suggest this on a public forum.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

            Hi All,
Just to let you know how this one ended up! We eventually completed sale in January, gave our buyers £1,000 withdrawal, (which is less that the original 5 grand).
At the time felt a bit cheated, BUT !!!. The house we bought we got an excellent deal and we do really love it. We had a pretty bad year last year, house hunting with
all its highs and lows. And the all the final paperwork, solicitors phone calls etc to be honest we felt like we were at the fairground! BUT!!! We ended up better off. Paid all debts off, got a beautiful bungalow with very pretty gardens. And might I say we deserve it! At the end of it all I can say that all is fair in love and war and buying and selling houses. Yes all the lying and cheating and and fighting and swearing! Its all worth it in the end.0
