Anyone know who the best companies are to go with for cheap private medical cover (BUPA-type) - looking for a policy but want to make sure it doesnt cut too many corners............ ie covers the normal stuff!

I just been through all this. Although not the cheapest BUPA covers the most when it comes to cancer.
when you speak to them you can barter and get it cheaper

Hi there..

I'm sure your sorted now re Private Medical Insurance (PMI) but you may be interested in a plan from AXA which was launch through independent brokers (yes I am one but i'm not just looking for business.. genuine!) which you cannot buy directly from AXA. Why? Because it offers more than their normal schemes at a lower premium.

They have priced the premiums to beat the best value cover on the market - Secure Health - whilst including the benefits of using AXA. There is also a no claims bonus in this scheme to keep premiums lower.

This will beat BUPA buy a mile!!!

Also, have you considered linking PMI with a cash plan with a high excess?? This reduces the premium and gives additional benefits for dental and optical etc...

p.s. All BUPA hospitals are separate businesses and are available to the majority of providers. Not many people know that.......
