  • I got one from Lidl last Saturday, 4 kgs. £5-39 or £5-79 I can't remeber exactly which but I know that the first figure was a 5 and the last was a 9 and wasn't £5-99.
There are 2 pitfalls about growing old, 1 you tend to forget things and I can't remember the other one. (probably caused by eating too much frozen turkey).

Where? Anyone seen any deals for a Turkey for Christmas? Frozen one is fine.

Watch out for the cheap frozen ones in Iceland = I got one the other year it was a queer genetically modified shape and was stamped up as coming from Brazil, tough as old boots and flavourless. Never again.

I bought one in Lidls, it is 4.4kg at £4.99, it has a pop up timer on as well, I have never heard of these and didn't know what it was. It is a little plastic thing pierced into the turkey and must pop when the turkey is fully cooked.

it's not cheap but a 'rare' Tickle Me Elmo TMX looks likely to be the biggest turkey some people experience this xmas ;)

The ones I have seen pop up when they are fully DEFROSTED - you are supposed to take it out for cooking :-) They put these in because people were cooking half-frozen turkeys and they were not cooked properly and getting sick.

Granted - I saw these in American turkeys 20 years ago - but i'm sure it has not changed.
