How to clean stainless steel hob/oven

We've just installed a new Stainless steel hob and oven, Does anyone have any cleaning tips / suggestions of products to use?

I don't want to ruin it by cleaning it with the wrong thing but the finger marks show up quite badly!

many thanks.

  • I used to use baby oil on my stainless steel splashback but obviously no good for near a flame.

WD 40, I am told is very good.

Thanks for the replies, my only issue with a damp microfibre cloth is wether it can shift the dried on spill overs that usually occur

I use glass cleaner for all my stainless steel, anything with Isopropyl (rubbing alcohol) will do a good job.
Clean any marks off with a damp cloth and then spray and polish with the isopropyl.
I buy a large bottle from some local window fitters as its great for all sorts -works a treat shining up my granite work tops
