Hi
I have just done an speed checker test on my broadband (sky) which shows the following
Download 2224 kbps
Upload 476 kbps
I have recenly been downloading some films/files that said they were HD 3000kbps
Yet whenever i download any files on my pc or laptop i seem to only get speeds between 120 to 130 kbps
Why is this?
Thanks

Are you downloading them to watch, then this is about the normal download speed from the internet. When you watch them, once downloaded, this is the quality of the playback of the film.
The download speeds you note further are pretty average. I use this tester, you will need java Script enable to run and takes some time to complete. http://www.speedtester.bt.com/
If you download a lot of films, it would be better when the kiddies are in bed, i.e., not between 4 and 9 in the evening0 -

The speed checker gives your speed in Kbits
Your download speed is in KBytes
1kbit = .1kbyte
So your download and upload is
Download 222.4 kBps
Upload 47.6 kBps0 -

Where are you downloading the films from? the source can affect the speed, legitimate sites should provide decent speeds, torrents etc..vary wildly.Utinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.0
