N Power Spreading warmth tariff

could the npower rep please explain how spreading warmth is meant to reduce my bills if the prices are in fact higher?

Spreading Warmth is their social tariff, I believe all suppliers have to have one. It doesn't have to be the cheapest tariff they offer (for example my Grandad is on E.On's social tariff which is actually more than standard for him), but I believe the Spreading Warmth tariff is the cheapest enduring tariff.

So somebody can make a saving if they are happy to shop around every six to twelve months, but as some people don't have the internet or just don't fancy looking around all the time I can see a place for this tariff.
