No, when I do take the Spanish bank's offer (which I do when I take out £20 or £30), There are no extra charges from Nationwide.glider3560 wrote: »I assume the Nationwide fee includes the £1 charge for non-UK ATM? Remember you'll be charged this on top of the Caixa/Caja Rural charge.0 -

How do you get your Sterling in there in the first place? You may be able to transfer it via an FX broker for a bit less than the 2%-3% quoted here, but it certainly isn't free. Also, IME (I suppose things might have changed) Spanish banks tend to charge customers of other Spanish banks to use their ATMs, so you'd have to either pay the charge or hunt around for an ATM belonging to your bank.
The cheapest solution is to open an account with one of the places that offer the same deal that Nationwide used to offer - e.g. Metro Bank.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks

Yes, Spanish banks can be quite expensive.
However, I have now opened an account with Metro Bank, and am getting rates like 1.20 euros to the pound. Much better!
Still clear blue sky and warm weather here.0
