Basically you are on your own. There are some pretty heart rending posts in various dogs forums where people have thought they had life long cover but it was as above, a limited amount for that lifetime.0

Hello,
I have just done a quote with Axa and it says that its £7,000 per period of insurance, does this mean that this is lifetime cover? I am trying to sort out insurance for my dog and its getting so stressful
Period of insurance means the year. So yes, it would cover up to £7k per year.
"Vet’s fees can be very expensive. With AXA pet insurance you won’t have to worry about treatment costs. You can rely on up to £7,000 a year in vet’s fees for your cat or dog.
No time limits on your pet’s treatmentMany insurers stop paying for your pet’s treatment after a specified time. Not AXA. We will to continue to cover your cat or dog’s long term conditions for as long as your pet is insured with us0
