Whats your favourite family board games?

I'm looking to buy a couple of board games for my 11 year old DD. I have just been looking at the Woolworths site and was thinking of Pictionary and Cranium, would love your thoughts on these please and any other recommendations that your kids love.

If anyone has cranium could tell me if it is suitable for a 11 year old or would I be better going for the family edition?

I love board games!

I like trivial pursuits - perhaps a little old for 11yr olds, but you now get childrens and family versions.

Cranium is great for all the family - I'm sure someone recently posted a link about it being at a great price at tesco's at the moment. It is definately suitable for an 11yr old.

I also like articulate (although you might need to vet some of the cards first), but not a fan of pictionary - i think this is because i cannot draw to save myself but can talk the hind legs of a donkey anytime!

Monopoly is a firm favourite and you now get local editions for some cities such as glasgow.

never played cranium so can't help with that sorry...

but you can't beat a family game of monopoly....

or some of the dvd games you can buy now are quite fun aswell...

Yes DD mentioned DVD cluedo, but its £40 :eek:

No Cranium bargins at Tesco near me unfortunatly, DD also loves monopoly we have the traditional one, so was going to have a look at Monopoly express.

We love UPWORDS. Its a bit like scrabble but you can build upwards by adding letters to a maximum of 5 tiles high. (hope I've explained that clearly enough!)

I got ds Scattergories last Xmas, its a quick thinking against the clock game, and good fun for all the family.
