Vinyl to get rid of - best way?

I have about 150 vinyl albums that I dont really want to just give away. I thought I might be able to put them on Amazon but when you search for the particular album there isn't anyother listed so you cannot "sell yours here". Can you get them item listed still?
Or, is there anywhere else I could sell them to/via?
cheers

Hello welnik
I think that you'll get more responses in the 'Ebay & other auctions' board, so I'll move it across for you.
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email !!!!!!.

Vinyl is difficult to sell as it has become quite a specialist area. You could take a look on ebay to see what sales have been made in the past 30 days. Just put your details in the search area and on the LH margin you have the option of completed items, click on that and you will get the auctions that finished in the past 30 days.
You might find that you have some worth selling on there, but if you have albums that have not managed to sell before it might be easier just to freecycle them.

That's freecycle.org, if you haven't heard of it
My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
Yes, I have. Got rid of half my house when I moved! It just grieves me to give away all my albums as they have costs me hundreds over the years. I think a lot of stuff gets sold on too.frivolous_fay wrote:That's freecycle.org, if you haven't heard of it

I had to junk around 350 vinyls around a year ago as I was obviously never going to play them again.
Apart from a relatively few albums that retain some value because of rarity, these must be some of the most oversupplied items in existance what with hundreds of millions of people changing to CD over the last 20 years.
I couldn't even give mine away, although you might be lucky.0 -
I've been selling off my vinyl collection for a few months on ebay. It's mostly rare and independent stuff that either sells suprisingly well (upto £30. for a 7") or some have not sold at all. The worst part is packaging it all up securely to make sure it arrives in one piece.
I'd say you're best to do a search on ebay beforehand to see if anyone else is selling similar stuff by the same artists etc and whether they have much interest in it, to give you an idea whether it's worth listing it. You can also check sites like eil.com and musicstack.com for more rare items - they do buy from the public but probably not nearly as much as you could make if you sell it yourself
There will always be a market for vinyl which is still much-loved, it's just not as big a pool as we'd like :cool:0 -
Check Completed Listings on eBay (you need to be registered to do so) to find out if any of your records are worth money there. Most aren't worth selling on eBay though, since the market is saturated with the more common ones which cost more to post than they're worth. Are there any secondhand record shops in your area? If so, I'd try there, otherwise consider a car boot sale (but take other stuff as well, so you still make money even if the record buyers aren't there).0

take your old vinyl to a car boot, i did this last year and my boxes of old albums etc were the first thing people made a beeline for, they all sold remarkably well even the naff onesproper prior planning prevents !!!!!! poor performance!
