MBNA rate for life card - feedback?

Hi,

I'm hoping someone who have already applied for the MBNA rate for like card at 5.9% could answer this for me.

I have applied for the card online within their working hours, where they claim most of the applications are given an instant decision. At the last stage after it showed me what the standard interest rate they were offering and I submitted the application. It did not show me their credit limit offer etc or any outright confirmation that my application was successful. I have not received any email confirmation either. Just a bog standard message along the lines of 'we will write to you in 5 - 7 working days'.

Does this mean my application is currently pending and they have yet to accept or decline my application? And is it normal for them not to send out an email confirmation - seeing as though the card is designed to be paperless (managed online)

Thanks for looking :)
