I personally have used vet medic, hyperdrug and best pet pharmacy. You will still need a prescription for insulin but the price varies and will change frequently so you need to revisit all the sites to find the best deal. Remember to factor in postage usually special delivery at about £6.00. If you go to the sticky on the first page of this forum you can use the links to check a lot of good sites. Also it is sometimes cheaper to get your syringes, insulin and keto sticks from different sites.

Check your vets prices as well as I'm finding it a few pounds cheaper to buy my dogs insulin from my vet. I could get the needles cheaper online but by the time postage is added on there's only a few pence in it.
Handle every stressful situation like a dog.
If you can't eat it or play with it ....... just pee on it and walk away.

It will be Caninsulin as Insuvet is unavailable at the moment and for the foreseeable future. Insulin is temperature sensitive and also is degraded by shaking. Your internet pharmacy needs to use a refrigerated courier, not Royal Mail, otherwise the insulin you buy may be useless before it gets to you. It might still be better to get it from your vet.
  • In always get Buddy's insulin from the vet. I dont trust the delivery people to transport it without damaging the insulin, as its so delicate. I get the syringes from viovet, i also get his food from there too.

I agree with Motherbear and buddys mum . I used to buy everything from the internet but after recently changing my vets I now find it is cheaper to buy my dogs insulin from the practice.

Reading things like this makes me so grateful for modern medicine, I've got type 1 diabetes so have to use insulin, and both insulins I'm on are not at all delicate, they can be shaken up as much as you like, and can be kept at room temperate (for 4 weeks), and are in pens (both insulins are also far more expensive than older types though sadly). It must have been terrible in the past to have to have been faffing about with syringes and fridges.

Sorry this doesn't help you with your dog though!

A lot of human insulin now is synthetic and is probably a tougher molecule. Dog & cat insulin is still a natural product from either cows or pigs (depending on brand) and is probably the most delicate medication we use in terms of care with handling. You can shake up your antibiotics all you want!
