But, strangely, it's still 6p/minute via the freephone (cable landline) number!

It may be an error on the website - the tariff message still says 6p/minute when I called a mobile just now.

You website appears to have been changed today - now indicating that, using the 18185 prefix from a BT landline, calls to UK mobiles during the week now cost 10p per minute.

However, the tariff message still says 6p per minute when I dial.
Also, the rate for cable landline users (via the 0808 1 703 703 freephone number) is still shown as 6p per minute.

Is the 10p rate for 18185 prefix users (i.e. those with BT landlines) now shown on the website an error?
Regards.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

The message may be saying 6p per minute but they are actually charging 10p I just checked my online bill. It was saying 6p last night and that one was charged at 10p as well0

Are you sure 10p is not 4p connection plus a minimum of 1 minute @ 6p?millie wrote:The message may be saying 6p per minute but they are actually charging 10p I just checked my online bill. It was saying 6p last night and that one was charged at 10p as well
The tariff message still says 6p per minute but no reply to the above e-mail yet BTW.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. So, it appears to be just an error on the website then.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hi, thought i would check the call checker to see if it reflects error on 18185 but nope, still there 10pmin. Has anyone received/contacted 18185 to let them know/advise them on the error. Looks kinda scary reading!!

Announcement on London number said 10 pence a minute when I checked the last couple of evenings, but I didn't connect the calls. Website still 6p.
Either they've swapped the 6p and 10p rates between 18185 and 020 access, or the website was wrongly updated ?0 -

Let's hope they really only intended to change the price for access via the 020/0808 numbers back to 10p (it was a surprise when it was changed to 6p fairly recently) but have changed the price via the prefix in error.redux wrote:Announcement on London number said 10 pence a minute when I checked the last couple of evenings, but I didn't connect the calls. Dialling the freephone number I get told the call costs 10p/min but dialling the 18185 shortcode I don't get a price announcement at all!!
I therefore think we can safely say its 10p/min via any access method.
It's not the first time their website haven't been updated to reflect the price change.
I can only assume that they forgot to update their mobilerates page when they updated their normal rates page!0
