  • I agree totally, having had a similar experience with them recently. Very indifferent customer service and attitude towards me - and ive been with them a few years now.

I used an aternative provider in the end, saving over £500 and also dealt with friendly, efficient and customer-oriented staff.

Lesson: don't put up with bad staff and always shop around for better package!

Thanks for this. Saga increased my premium to £1100 this year, buildings only. we had subsidence 22 years ago which was fully underpinned and have been paying over the odds for insurance ever since. Moved to L& G this morning for £477

Good - you probably owe me a beer sometime!

Many people would not know the history of the home they've moved in to. And many sellers would keep schtum about any issues.

I've moved back to my parents home - I know in the hot summer of '76 a crack appeared in the house, it was monitored, but if I had not joined the whacky fun world of insurance, this would not have stayed in my memory. I declare it every year, but have had no increased terms because of it.

I say declare all you know, even if long term info is a bit flaky; at least then, your story is logged, and they can't wriggle out due to non disclosure.

It may be worded 'has the property ever', im off the clock can't remember the exact wording on the screen :P But I see where your coming from if it just says 'have you ever'

It's got to be related to the property, not you personally. I don't think even an insurance company could believe that there are some people who attract subsidence - very overweight people perhaps? :)
